Updating Artist Profiles on DSPs

 

  • It is important to have an artist profile that is fresh and up to date across all DSPs. The Kartel team have put together this best practice guide to highlight the different specifications each DSP requires. Please make sure you are signed up to each DSP respective artists portal

 
 
 

  • Apple Music for Artists allows you to manage aspects of your profile such as your profile photo. Please make sure you are signed up to Apple Music for Artists. 

  • Apple Music recently introduced new features that gives you the power to manage your Apple Music profile. See here

  • Artist images on Apple Music need to be 2400 x 2400 pixels and have an output resolution of 72 dpi. File Type: 72 dpi. See image guidelines here.

  • Supported file formats: JPEG or PNG

  • Biographies are provided to Apple Music by AllMusic. If there is no biography on Apple Music, or you want to replace your AllMusic biography with your own commentary, Apple Music has created a Q&A section in the Artist Profile, which will display the Apple Music artist page. Fill out the Q&A in Artist Profile, which will display on your Apple Music artist page.

 
 

Before images are uploaded to your artist profile, make sure they meet these guidelines:

  • Use .jpeg, .png, or .gif file formats

  • Avatar images must be at least 750px x 750px

  • Header images must be at least 2660px x 1140px. You can download an image template here: https://spotify.app.box.com/v/spotifyheader

  • Images in your image gallery must be at least 690px x 500px

  • Your image can’t be larger than 20MB

  • Don’t include infringing or offensive materials

  • Don’t include text, advertising, or busy backgrounds

  • Don’t promote your upcoming tour or album release

  • Make sure your images align with Spotify’s copyright policy

 
 
 

  • Amazon Music for Artists allows users to add a Profile Photo as well as a Background Image to their account. Please make sure you are signed up to Amazon Music For Artists.

 
 

Profile Photo Image files must be: 

  • Jpeg, or png, at least 500 x 500px and no larger than 5MB. Avoid text, logos, and busy images.

To add a Background Image the file must be: 

  • jpeg, or png, at least 1920 x 1440px and no larger than 10MB. Avoid text, logos, and busy images.

 
 
 

  • Deezer for Creators allows you to change Profile Pictures as well as a Channel Banner Picture and Bios.

  • Profile Photo image files must be: At least 1200x1200px and a maximum file size of 9MB. The files will need to be  JPG, JPEG or PNG, any image you upload will be cropped into a circle, so keep this in mind when choosing a pic.

  • A Channel Banner Picture must be:  A minimum dimension of 1800 x 230 and a max file size of 6MB.

 
 
 
 
 

  • Traxsource does not provide external access to artist or label profiles. Please send photos and Bios to client support: support@kartelmusicgroup.com for these to be updated.

 
 

To update the artist bio, follow these specifications: 

  • Please provide a short description of your artist (no HTML please). 

  • You may provide your social network addresses.

  • Only UTF-8 characters are accepted.

  • Bio information is updated immediately on Traxsource upon completion.

Image files must be:

  • In JPG or PNG format.

  • RGB colour mode only (no CMYK please).

  • Square with minimum resolution 600 X 600 pixels.

  • Maximum file size 1200 X 1200 pixels

 
 
 
 

  • Beatport currently does not provide external access to artist or label profiles. Please send photos and Bios to client support: support@kartelmusicgroup.com for these to be updated at Beatport.

  • ALL IMAGES MUST BE 590x404 OR GREATER (SCALED ACCORDINGLY UP TO 3000x2054)

  • Bios can also be provided to the Kartel team and will be updated at Beatport.
